Since 2008 we have made theatre where Assam’s indigenous traditions, physical theatre and contemporary dramaturgy meet. We create productions, run the Bhullung-Bhuthur International Theatre Festival, train young performers and build free digital tools for theatre, film and research.

This season
Five evenings of world theatre
The fourth Bhullung-Bhuthur International Theatre Festival brings eight productions from India, Sri Lanka, the USA and Poland to Guwahati, with a physical theatre workshop, a theatre forum, two new books and eight free apps.

Workshops
From workshop to festival stage
Our workshops train school students, young performers and professionals. Some participants have gone on to international festival stages: Jahnabi Borah, from the 2023 workshop, performs Swings of Love, and Brishtirani Hazarika, from the 2025 workshop, created her solo The Moonlight of the Island.
August 2026
Member of the festival committee. Moderated the Directors’ Forum, presented “The Contemporary Festival Organizer: NEC Approach” with M. Safeer, gave the India country report and led the workshop Yoga Body Flow. The Body as Border and The Moonlight of the Island were presented in the competition.
March 2026
Swings of Love (Premar Dolna), with Inter Act Art, Sri Lanka, performed at Samilro Changgo Theater, Seoul, on 19 March 2026, one of four international productions selected from 70 applications.

Paper: “Fostering International Theatre Interactions: Lessons from India’s Bhullung-Bhuthur International Theatre Festival”. Signed the MoU among nine countries that founded the New World Theatre Network (NWTN).

Project Director. Artists from France, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India created the Assamese Swings of Love with Inter Act Art, Sri Lanka.
